Bio

Bob Cowman is entering his eighth year as John Wood Community College's men’s soccer coach. In his time at the helm, he has led the program to a regional championship match, 14 all-region players, 7 academic all-American teams (CSU 20,21,23,24)(NJCAA 20,23,24), 24 academic all-Americans, 33 players who have moved on to four-year programs, and Region 24 Coach of the Year honors in 2021 and 2022.

Before arriving at JWCC, Cowman served as the assistant women’s coach at Hannibal-LaGrange University for four seasons. He also served as the Director of Coaching for the Quincy United Soccer Club and as the Director of the Great River Soccer Academyin Quincy, Illinois. While with Quincy United, he also coached several girls’ teams.

He coached at the high school level for over 20 years, serving as the head boys' soccer coach at Norwalk High School in Norwalk, Ohio, where he was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2020. He also coached at Quincy Senior High School in Quincy, Illinois, as an assistant in both the girls’ and boys’ programs.

Coach Cowman has extensive experience working with coaches, players, and parents, many of whom have been on the soccer field. He holds a National, Advanced National, and Director of Coaching diploma from the United Soccer Coaches.

He serves as the pastor of Columbus Road Church and resides in Quincy with his wife, Lisa. They have four adult children and three grandchildren.
