Bio

In the Fall of 2024, Bob Cowman will be entering his fifth year as John Wood Community College men’s soccer coach.  In the short time at the helm, he has led the program to a runner-up region tournament finish, five all region players, two academic all-American teams (CSU), ten academic all-Americans and ten players who have moved onto four year programs.

Prior to arriving at JWCC, Cowman served as the assistant women’s coach at Hannibal Lagrange University for the past four seasons. He also served as the Director of Coaching for the Quincy United Soccer Club and the Director of the Great River Soccer Academy in Quincy, Illinois.  While with Quincy United, he also coached several girl’s teams.

He has also coached at the high school level for over 30 years. He served as head boys soccer coach at Norwalk High School, Norwalk, Ohio and at Quincy Senior High School, Quincy Illinois as an assistant in both the girls’ and boys’ program.

Coach Cowman has vast experience, working with coaches and players and parents, most of which have been on the soccer pitch. He holds a National, Advanced National and Director of Coaching diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches.

He serves as the pastor of Columbus Road Church and currently resides in Quincy with his wife Lisa. They have four adult children.
