Rumble On The River Set To Begin

Winter is here and basketball has officially kicked off, which can only mean that it's time for the 17th annual Rumble On The River to officially get underway!

The 2024 Rumble will consist of 20 games over six days, with teams from Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri all descending upon John Wood for a slew of competitive games. This year will be no different in terms of top-level nonlocal teams and top local area teams coming to compete.  Click 2024 Rumble Schedule for the full schedule!

Monday December 16th will kick off the 2024 Rumble with a tough matchup between the Monroe City Lady Panthers and the Nikes of Burlington Notre Dame out of Iowa.

Tuesday will be a two-game day that features a good matchup between the first-time visiting Mustangs of Unity High School, and the Atlanta High School Bees, out of Atlanta, Missouri

The third day will kick off with matchups between the always ready Clopton Boys and Girls and who will take on the very good and state ranked Lady Panthers from Central Southeastern and the Tigers from Higbee High School. The third matchup will be between the Higbee girls and the Monroe City Lady Panthers. The final game of the night will be a must see between the always good Monroe City Panthers boys' team and the tough and state ranked Trojans from Troy Buchanan High School.

Friday will consist of three tough notch games, with the first game being between the Lady Blue Devils from Quincy Senior High, and the Lady Pirates from Booneville High School, who will be making their first trip to the Rumble. The Second game will see the Notre Dame Lady Raiders make their second appearance of the rumble, and they will take on the talented Lady Bearcats from Hermann High School. The last game of the night will be between the returning Monroe City Panthers, and the always ready Indians from Payson-Seymour High School.

The final day will see a total of eight games with matchups between some of the area's best Illinois boys and girls teams, and some of the best Iowa and Missouri teams. Saturday will also consist of first-time visits from the state ranked Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders, the Lady Bearcats and the Bearcats from Cairo Missouri, and the North Shelby Lady Raiders. Also making their first appearance are the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes, who will look to take down the always tough Panthers of Palmyra High School out.
