Flynn and Dupree Earn M-WAC Honors

The Midwest Athletic Conference released their All-Conference selections for the 2023-2024 season this week, the Lady Blazers nabbed two nominations in Katey Flynn and Jada Dupree. Freshman Katey Flynn received 1st Team honors and Freshman Player of the Year honors. Sophomore Jada Dupree also earned 1st Team All MWAC honors as well.

Katey Flynn had a standout season for the Lady Blazers, playing a critical factor on both offense and defense. Flynn led the Blazers offense, scoring 593 points and averaging 19.8 a game. Flynn guarded the boards well and was able take down 212 rebounds and leading the team in defensive rebounds, total rebounds, and rebounding average. Her total rebounds are the best of any Lady Blazer since 2018 when Autumn Voigt had 214. She also led the team in blocks (25) and recorded 69 assists and was 157-185 (84.9%) from the free throw line.

Jada Dupree had a great sophomore season and was a big impact for the Lady Blazers. A transfer from Lamar CC in Colorado, Dupree was the second leading scorer for the Lady Blazers with 411 points and lead the team in assists with 112. She had a team leading 109 steals and was a dominating factor when the ball was in her hands. Jada will leave John Wood after one season with making an impact that will last for years to come.
