Athletic Facility Progress

The Summer of 2022 for Trail Blazer athletics will be a Summer full of both creation and preparation. A few of the projects on the agenda for a Fall 2022 reveal include, but not limited to:

Soccer Field Complex: For the first time in the college's history, John Wood will have a soccer home! Following dirt work and the installation of a draining system this past Winter, the natural grass field is slated to open with the Fall 2022 athletic season. Located just to the North of the Student Activity Center, opponents and fans will have immediate access to indoor locker rooms and restrooms. The location of the field in relationship to the other athletic areas on campus gives Trail Blazer athletics a true athletic complex that prospects, student-athletes, fans, coaches, and the community can enjoy.

Student Activity Center: A new state-of-the-art video wall, in conjunction with a new scoreboard and shot clocks, will be installed in July 2022. The video wall will give our indoor athletic programs (volleyball, women's basketball, and men's basketball) a new game day experience that is not often found at the NJCAA level. The college will also be able to utilize the new technology for community and college-wide events such as graduation, banquets, and Honor Flight returns. In addition, sponsorships and adverstisement possibilities are endless.

Baseball/Softball Fields: New, permanent sound systems will be installed at both the baseball and softball complexes in August 2022. The new system will enable coaches and players to make announcements and play music at both game day and practice days. The weather-proof system will be designed to withstand the Fall and Spring unpredictable weather patterns.

All of the renovations in the Summer of 2022 are a start and each will grow in both usage and functionality, focusing on the student-athlete experience. The college is excited to be able to move the needle in facilities on the athletic side of the house.
